GOOGLE CLOUD MIGRATION

Whether you’re using Firebase, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Kubernetes, or custom applications, we migrate your workflows in stages without disrupting your business.

What makes moving off Google Cloud different

Google Cloud is built on many open technologies, which makes a lot of workflows straightforward to move. Google-specific services take more planning, but they also have proven migration paths. That’s why we start by identifying dependencies

Examples from typical environments …

  • Kubernetes, backends, databases. Kubernetes, virtual machines, managed databases, and storage are built on open standards. In most cases, they can move without changing your application code.
  • Data platforms (BigQuery and Bigtable). Reports, analytics, and large data sets move to powerful open platforms, run by a European provider or in-house. Because they’re business-critical, we usually treat them as a separate migration project.
  • Firebase and Firestore. Firebase combines authentication, databases, messaging, and real-time updates into a single platform. Migrating away means rebuilding those capabilities with open technologies. We assess the effort upfront, so you know what to expect before the migration starts.
  • Cloud Functions and Cloud Run. Your functions and containers keep running unchanged on open platforms at European providers. The application logic changes very little. Most of the work is rebuilding the integrations around it.
  • AI pipelines (Vertex AI). Using Vertex AI? We migrate your AI workflows to open tools running on infrastructure you control. Your models usually stay the same. We rebuild the platform around them.
  • Identity and access management. Applications that use standard authentication protocols can usually keep their existing login process. If you want to replace your identity platform, we build the new solution alongside the existing one and migrate users gradually.

We deliberately left this list incomplete. Google Cloud covers well over a hundred services. Our Cloud Analysis maps out which ones are in your environment and how to migrate each one.

Where to move from Google Cloud?

Open data platforms, operated in Europe

For analytics and reporting, we often recommend open platforms such as ClickHouse, hosted by providers like STACKIT, Open Telekom Cloud, or plusserver. You’ll often reduce query costs while gaining more control over your data.

STACKIT, Exoscale, or gridscale

Containers, Kubernetes workloads, and backend services move well to these platforms. The right choice depends on your architecture, compliance requirements, and budget.

Mittwald or IONOS

Still running your company website, shop, or smaller apps on Google? You’ll get more for less at a specialized German provider. Mittwald handles web and content systems. IONOS offers solid cloud infrastructure with its own AI tools.

Sovereign AI platform

Run your AI workflows on infrastructure you control, choose the model that fits your requirements, and keep your data private.

Keep your data projects running

We run the old and new platforms in parallel until the results match. Only then do we switch over. Migration is also a chance to simplify your data platform. We remove what’s no longer needed instead of carrying years of accumulated complexity into the new environment.

A straightforward application migration runs three to six months.

If a data platform sits at the core, budget six to fourteen months depending on scope, with the data analysis handled as its own dedicated phase. Our cloud analysis maps out the real timeline for your setup.

The models themselves usually stay exactly as they are and keep running on open tooling.

What changes is the infrastructure around them: training, deployment, monitoring. That also frees you to choose a different model down the line whenever the market shifts.

Short term, yes, there’s an adjustment period, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

Medium term, teams move just as fast on open tooling, and that expertise is far easier to hire for than Google-specific skills. We support the transition with training and hands-on work directly on your system.

No, just something to plan around.

Firebase’s login, data storage, and real-time features all map onto open building blocks hosted with European providers. Your users won’t notice a thing, and your developers gain full control over the environment.

Yes. Open data platforms like ClickHouse match, and often beat, typical analytics response times, and they run wherever you choose to host them.

Not every specialized feature has a direct equivalent, so we check upfront what your analytics workflows depend on.

Our Cloud Analysis maps your Google Cloud environment in four weeks at a fixed price, with a close look at data and AI services and a cost comparison against European providers.
