Who are we looking for

You know how to generate new business on your own. You’ve navigated complex international sales in IT. You can get buy-in from internal stakeholders and clients alike. You know when to stop talking and start listening.

There’s no demo to run here and no feature list to walk through. You start with a problem the client hasn’t solved yet, work out what solving it takes, and build the deal around that. If most of your experience is in pitching a finished product, this probably isn’t the right fit.

Your responsibilities

Generate new business!
Research and target the accounts and industries where DECODE should be winning
Proactively prospect and build your own pipeline through outbound, referrals, and your network
Own and drive new business opportunities, from qualification to closing
Collaborate with our solution architecture, product, and marketing teams throughout the sales process
Lead presales activities: meetings, proposals, solution shaping
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms
Spot risks, solve problems, and keep clients happy
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Keep CRM up-to-date, clean, structured, and actually useful
Analyze market trends and competition, and propose improvements to our offering.

We expect

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
5+ years in business development or sales, with a track record of self generated pipeline
Commitment to generate new business on your own
Experience in software development services or the IT industry
Ability to sell and communicate at C-level
Strong commercial mindset: you understand both client needs and business impact
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Fluent in English and Croatian, written and spoken
Solid understanding of software development processes
Proactive, structured, and comfortable owning outcomes.

Broad professional network
Technical background: CS, IT, Engineering, or similar
Experience in Telco, Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, or similar industries.

We offer flexibility

Flexible working hours – Some of us start early, others need more sleep. You choose when your workday begins, anytime between 7 and 10.
Hybrid work model – Sometimes it’s nice to stay home and work in comfort. Remote days are always available, with the number depending on seniority: juniors have 74 remote days per year, mid-level roles 110, and seniors 165.
Fully remote work – If you’re a Developer or QA and don’t live in Zagreb, or prefer to work entirely from home, we offer a full remote option for mid-level and senior roles.
Voluntary pension contributions (third pillar) – If you want to invest more in your future, you can opt into third-pillar pension contributions. The amount you choose is automatically deducted from your gross salary.
Housing support – We offer rent reimbursement through a gross salary deduction.
