We’ve grouped our most common questions into categories, so you can quickly find what matters most.
Hiring process & applications
In most cases, our process takes between 6 and 8 weeks. It depends on the role and how many people need to be involved.
Occasionally, things slow down. Someone might be out sick, on vacation, or we’re waiting on a candidate’s response. If that happens, we’ll always let you know where things stand.
We know waiting isn’t easy. Please know we’re doing our best to move quickly, without rushing such an important decision.
If you have your resume ready, it should take you a few minutes to complete our online application.
It is not required but it’s certainly an advantage.
At the moment, we don’t offer internships but any updates on that will go on our career page, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
Step 1: Online Application
All our open positions are listed on our website. To apply, complete the online application through Bamboo. When you send your application you will receive a thank you email to confirm it’s reached us. Once your application arrives, our team will review your qualifications. If we feel that your skills and experience meet our requirements, we will contact you for an interview. We’ll also let you know if you haven’t been successful too.
Step 2: First interview with a Team member and Recruitment & Administrative Associate
We prefer people to come to the office for an interview but it is possible to arrange a video interview as well. The first interview will cover your education and experience, and we’ll be assessing your knowledge and motivation. It will take about an hour, with plenty of time to ask us everything you want to know.
Step 3. Second interview with a Team Lead or CDO and Talent and Culture Specialist
Again, we prefer in-person interviews but could do video if necessary. It’s the last step before we decide to hire you.
Step 4. Offer
If we decide you’re the best candidate for the position, we will send you an offer letter.
Step 5: Onboarding at DECODE
Congratulations and welcome to DECODE! We’ll start our onboarding process so you can begin to feel part of the team. We have a dedicated team of people who will help you with your first days at DECODE.
General company & culture questions
Most of us work in a hybrid setup.
It gives us the focus of working from home and the creative energy that comes from being together in the office. Some roles, especially non-tech ones, are office-based. We also like having project managers and team leads around in person as much as possible.
That said, what matters most to us isn’t where you work. It’s how you work. If you stay connected, communicate clearly, and follow through, you’ll fit right in.
Success, for us, means doing meaningful work, learning all the time, supporting each other, and enjoying the ride. It’s work that creates real value for clients and users. Not something that gets shipped and forgotten.
Success also means sustainability. A healthy pace, respected time, and long-term relationships, both with clients and within the team.
We’re not shy to say “great job” out loud. Throughout the year, we call out standout work with public recognition, because good work should be seen.
And we don’t stop there. Exceptional contributions are rewarded with spot bonuses – real financial recognition for a job well done. When the timing is right and the impact is clear, growth can also mean a promotion.
Milestones matter too. We celebrate every major work anniversary at DECODE, whether it’s 3, 5, 8, 10, or even 15 years with the team. These moments are about recognizing commitment, growth, and everything our team have built along the way.
In short, we notice effort, celebrate progress, and make sure people feel valued. Publicly, and in ways that genuinely matter.
Our projects usually fall into two directions.
On one side, there are greenfield projects. Fast-moving builds where our teams have room to experiment and shape products from the ground up. On the other, there are larger corporate projects with more structure, scale, and complexity.
We stay on top of technology and industry trends, and we expect the same mindset from our clients. That means aligning on modern tools, thoughtful processes, and a shared view of how good products should be built.
By not treating culture like a poster on the wall.
We talk openly, give feedback, ask questions, and actually listen to the answers. As we grow, we’re intentional about who joins DECODE. Not just what they can do, but how they work, communicate, and treat people.
We also protect the things that keep our culture human. Clear expectations, honest conversations, trust, and respect for people’s time. Growth shouldn’t mean chaos or burnout.
And it definitely shouldn’t mean losing your voice along the way.
Yes, but very intentionally.
We don’t run fixed internship programs or summer schools just for the sake of it. When we bring in students or junior teammates, it’s only when we genuinely have the capacity to give them proper mentorship and support.
Good mentorship takes time, focus, and energy. We don’t want to overload our people, and we don’t want to offer a half-baked learning experience. If someone joins DECODE, they deserve real guidance, room to grow, and mentors who actually have time to mentor.
Student employment opportunities do happen. Just not on autopilot. When they do, they come with clear expectations, quality mentorship, and real learning.
We’d rather do it right, even if that means doing it less often.
We do everything we can to keep our projects within normal working hours. From time to time, key moments like major releases may require extra effort. When that happens, it’s planned, transparent, and never taken for granted.
Any extra time you put in is always recognized. You can choose to have it paid out or exchange it for additional vacation days. Your time, your choice.
The point is simple. No one is expected to donate their time to the company. We respect your energy, your time, and your life outside of DECODE. When people are rested and treated fairly, they do better work.
And they’re happier doing it.
This isn’t something we can answer for everyone. But based on the feedback we’ve received, it often comes down to people and a sense of belonging.
Many DECODErs tell us they stay because they feel part of a growing community, not just a company. They feel included, supported, and genuinely connected to the people they work with. That trust and togetherness tends to deepen over time.
We also hear that growing alongside DECODE matters. Learning new things, taking ownership, shaping how we work, and seeing the impact of your contributions makes a real difference.
Everyone has their own reasons, of course. But the pattern is clear. People stay because they feel valued, connected, and part of a company that’s growing with them.
We believe growth comes from staying curious and working closely together.
We’re tech-agnostic and value agility. Learning happens through real projects, shared problem-solving, tech talks, and day-to-day collaboration. It’s not a separate track. It’s part of the work.
We have many experienced seniors on the team, and supporting each other is simply how things work here. Knowledge sharing isn’t an extra. It’s expected.
We also check in regularly on where people want to grow next. New projects and clients often open up new directions, and everyone has a voice in what they want to learn or explore. We hire people who enjoy collaboration and are open to learning from others, as well as sharing their knowledge.
Your first days at DECODE are all about getting comfortable, meeting your team, and understanding how we work.
You’ll have a buddy to guide you through everything, plus around two weeks to get familiar with the technical setup. The exact length of onboarding depends on your role and the project you join.
We always start by introducing our tools, projects, and culture. From there, we adjust the pace based on the project’s stage and priorities. You’ll have space to learn, ask questions, and settle in, even if the project is already moving.
