Privacy Policy for QA Bug Report Helper (Chrome Extension)

Introduction

Effective Date: February 25, 2026

QA Bug Report Helper (“the Extension”) is provided by DECODE HQ Ltd (hereinafter “DECODE”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
This policy explains what data the Extension handles and how.

What the Extension does

The Extension helps QA users create and insert bug report content into issue trackers (for example Jira/Azure DevOps), including optional attachments, after user action.

Data we collect/process

The Extension may process:

  • Website content needed to build/insert bug report text on the active page.
  • User-entered report fields (for example summary, steps, expected/actual result, notes, environment).
  • Attachment metadata (filename, type, size) and attachment files selected by the user.
  • Basic extension settings/state (for example theme, last selected tab).

How data is used

We use this data only to provide the Extension’s single purpose: creating, saving, and inserting QA bug reports and related attachments.

Where data is stored

Report data/settings are stored locally in the user’s browser (Chrome extension storage).

Attachments are stored locally in the user’s browser (IndexedDB) to support the reporting workflow.

Data sharing and transfer

We do not sell user data.

We do not transfer user data to third-party data brokers or ad networks.

Data is sent to a user-selected destination system (for example Jira) only when the user triggers insertion/upload actions.

Remote code

The Extension does not load or execute remote code. Executable code is packaged with the extension.

Retention and deletion

Users can delete saved reports/attachments through the Extension UI and by removing extension data/uninstalling the Extension in Chrome.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data handled by the Extension.

Because data may be submitted to third-party systems chosen by the user, users should follow their organization’s security policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
